The Tanzania Geological Society (TGS) invites you to
the TGS 2020 Workshop and Annual Meeting that will take
place in Mwanza Tanzania in November 2020.
The general theme for the workshop is “Leadership, Professionalism and Ethics: Essentials of Mineral Sector Development”.
This year’s workshop and annual meeting have been delayed, following the Covid‑19 pandemic and the
Tanzania 2020 General Election. Nevertheless, it is

for geoscientists in and outside the country to get together in Mwanza
and deliberate on current geoscientific issues challenging our country and beyond.
The workshop is planned to have scientific and non‑scientific sessions
and a pre‑workshop excursion. Non‑scientific session will have
speeches or talks and panel discussions on Minerals and Gem Houses and Stakeholder’s involvement in the artisanal and small scale mining. The scientific session will include both academic and professional talks by geoscientist stakeholders, and talks from invited speakers on mineral explorations techniques.
The TGS workshop and meeting activities will begin on
Wednesday 25th of November 2020 and end on Saturday 28th of November 2020.
The workshop and meeting is planned to take place at the Bank of Tanzania Training Institute, Kapri Point Mwanza.
