Image Description

The Tanzania Geological Society announces TGS 2020 Annual Meeting and Workshop on "Leadership, Professionalism and Ethics: Essentials of Mineral Sector Development". The workshop and meeting will take place in Mwanza in November 2020. The timing for this year TGS meeting and workshop has changed (delayed) following the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the 2020 General Election that will take place later in this year. It is anticipated that the meeting and workshop will provide a unique opportunity for geoscientists to get together in the Rock City and deliberate on current geoscintific issues challenging our country and beyond.

This year’s workshop is planned to have scientific and non-scientific sessions, and pre- and post workshop excursions. Non-scientific session will have keynote speeches and panel discussions on: (1 Tanzania Geoscientists Registration Board (TGRB); (2) Contribution of mineral markets into mineral sector; and (3) Stakeholder’s involvement in the artisanal and small scale mining.
