The Tanzania Geological Society announces TGS 2020 Annual Meeting and Workshop on “Leadership, Professionalism and Ethics: Essentials of Mineral Sector Development”. The workshop and meeting will take place in Mwanza in November 2020. The timing for this year TGS meeting and workshop has changed (delayed) following the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic and the Tanzania 2020 General Election that will take place later in this year. It is anticipated that the meeting and workshop will provide a unique opportunity for geoscientists to get together in the Rock City and deliberate on current geoscintific issues challenging our country and beyond.
This year’s workshop is planned to have scientific and non scientific sessions, and pre and post workshop excursions. Non scientific session will have keynote speeches and panel discussions on: (1) Tanzania Geoscientists Registration Board (TGRB); (2) Contribution of mineral markets into mineral sector; and (3) Stakeholder’s involvement in the artisanal and small scale mining. Whereas, scientific session will include traditional academic and non-academic talks by geoscientist stakeholders and talks from invited speakers on mineral explorations techniques.
The 2020 TGS annual meeting and workshop is planned to take place at the Rock City Mall in Mwanza Tanzania.
We invite ABSTRACTS for ORAL and POSTER presentations that will fit to the main theme of the workshop. Abstracts can be submitted via TGS email (email@example.com). During submission of abstracts, authors should indicate their preference of either oral or poster presentation. For poster presentation, the recommended size for posters is A0 (Portrait; Width 841 x Height 1189 mm). Everyone opting for poster presentation will be assigned a space for display of his or her poster.
Excursions are planned to take place before and after the workshop. Details of the excursion will be released in the next circular.
